Annual Inspections & Check Lists

Fire Inspections are conducted on all commercial properties. The objective of these inspections is to enforce Florida Fire Prevention Codes, identify and remedy unsafe, hazardous and/or non-compliant conditions.

Annual inspections are also conducted for re-licensing of State run/approved childcare and adult care facilities.

It is our intent to limit the probability or severity of fires and ensure life safety for both residents and visitors of Suwannee County.

The following buildings and occupancies are inspected annually:

Hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities and other medical centers, schools, daycare facilities and other recreational or educational centers, apartment and condominium buildings, industrial and manufacturing facilities, retail stores & business offices with sprinklers & alarm systems, dining and entertainment establishments.

All others are inspected every 2 years.

In helping you prepare for your annual inspection we have provided a list of common items that are problems.
